With another craft brewery down the road and multiple beer-focused restaurants within blocks, the owners behind a coming Clifton brewery hope to make their neighbourhood a highlight of the city's emerging beer scene, The Courier-Journal reported on June 26.

"We can turn this into the beer area of Louisville," said Bannerman Brewing’s co-owner Jeff Pluhar.

But Pluhar and co-owner Cory Riley have to get their brewery open, first. The pair has been working on Bannerman Brewing — located on Mellwood Avenue, Louisville — for about a year-and-a-half and are slowly making their way through renovations and license approvals.

Pluhar said opening the brewery has taken longer than expected because of the deteriorating condition of a building they bought in May 2014 and other ventures they've since entered into. But the owners still hope to open by the end of 2015.
