Brewery news

A Providence-based brewing company is continuing efforts to move its production to Rhode Island, The Republic reported on August 26.

Narragansett Beer’s CEO Mark Hellendrung said in March that the company and the Isle Brewers Guild had been eyeing a vacant mill building in Providence, but it was destroyed by a fire. Narragansett Beer currently makes most of its beer at a Rochester, New York brewery.

Hellendrung tells they are still moving forward with plans for a Rhode Island location. He says the company should have some "pretty big news" in October or November.

Hellendrung also confirmed that Narragansett and Allie's Donuts are teaming up to create a Double Chocolate Porter that is set to be out next month.
