Salisbury Township resident Jeff Bonner started brewing beer 26 years ago.

Now, he's officially fully licensed to do so, Allentown Morning Call reported on December 4.

Bonner said on December 4 that his brewery, Cave Brewing Co., has received federal license approval. The brewery already had local and state approval.

The approval came just in the nick of time, allowing Cave Brewing to be one of the dozens of breweries serving craft beer during the Fegley's Brew Works Craft Beer Festival on December 5 at Allentown Brew Works.

Bonner, also a nuclear estimator at Talen Energy, said his brewery is based off the farm-to-mug concept. In the nano-brewery's first year, Bonner previously said he plans to produce 100 to 150 barrels.

According to the state's records, Cave Brewing is the fifth active brewery in Lehigh County, joining Funk Brewing Co. in Emmaus, Allentown Brew Works in the city's downtown, HiJinx Brewing Co. in the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center in Allentown and The Boston Beer Co. in Breinigsville.

In Northampton County, state records show there are three breweries: Two Rivers Brewing Co. and Weyerbacher Brewing Co., both in Easton, and Bethlehem Brew Works.
