According to official statistics, total hop acreage in the most southern hop growing area in Germany, Tettnang, is up 45 hectares (+3.6%) this year, HGA Tettnang reported.

The region’s 135 farmers expect harvested area to amount to 1,282 hectares (2.3% of world hop acreage). Nearly 70% are noble aroma hops (like Tettnanger and Hallertauter Mittelfrueh), 17% are other aroma and new flavour varieties, and 13% are high alpha hops like Herkules.
