USA: In support of the New York Fire Department (FDNY) and the Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA) Widows' and Children's Fund, Coors Brewing Company teamed up as a corporate sponsor for the FDNY Cross Country Bike Tour covering 3,336 miles, 13 states and 261 cities in just 42 days. The tour is raising funds for the UFA Widows' and Children's fund, a non-profit organization that assists families of firefighters who have died in the line of duty, according to Coors’ report from September 15.

"Coors is proud to join the more than million firefighters who support families that have lost their husbands, wives, mothers and fathers," said Troy Dickerson, director of corporate relations for Coors Brewing Company. "The FDNY Cross Country Bike Tour is a unique fundraising event that significantly
improves so many lives, and we are confident this event will raise an unsurpassed amount for the Widows' and Children's Fund."

The cross-country fundraising event, run entirely by New York City Firefighters, begins on September 14 in Los Angeles and ends on October 25 in New York City with a black tie event, sponsored in part by Coors, for riders, their families, FDNY, UFA and other event participants. Seven teams with five riders each from the New York Fire Department will cycle a total of 500 miles across the country. Along the route, firefighters will make several public appearances including visits at children's wards in hospitals and participating in town parades.

Founded in 1873, Coors Brewing Company is the third-largest U.S. brewer and the eighth-largest brewer in the world. Coors sells its products in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Coors' brands include Coors Original, Coors Light, Aspen Edge, Killian's Irish Red, Blue Moon, Zima, Keystone, and Extra Gold.
