Brewery news

A new craft brewery will move into San Ramon. Berkeley-based Fieldwork Brewing is expanding and adding yet another location in City Center Bishop Ranch, the Patch.com reported on February 27.

"We are excited to open the Fieldwork Taproom and Beer Garden at City Center Bishop Ranch and bring our fresh, locally brewed beer to the Tri-Valley. I grew up in the valley and we have been searching for the ideal place to expand our presence in the East Bay. City Center is that place. It will be a fantastic destination and we are pleased to be joining so many complementary merchants," said Barry Braden, co-founder and owner of Fieldwork Brewing Company.

In addition to its Berkeley address, Fieldwork has locations in Monterey, Napa, Sacramento and San Mateo.

Fieldwork Brewing, which is under construction, will be located on the corner of Camino Ramon and will join other new shopping, dining and lifestyle tenants in Bishop Ranch. Roam Artisan Burgers, Williams Sonoma, West Elm, and Equinox will also open the city center development. THE LOT, a luxury cinema and dining destination, is the anchoring business in the sprawling development. City Center Bishop Ranch features 300,000-square-feet of downtown retail, dining and entertainment options and is anticipated to open in late 2018.

In nearby Pleasanton, new party space and play area will soon open. The Coop will offer parents and caretakers unique party options and will feature fun extras like an espresso bar and free internet access.

A new build-your-own-burger franchise restaurant opened in the Stoneridge Shopping Center. The Counter Custom Burgers celebrated its grand opening on January 29. The burger eatery will offer burgers, milkshakes, salads, bowls, cocktails, beer and wine.

85°C Bakery Cafe, which opened in Pleasanton on Jan. 12, celebrated its grand opening by giving away free mugs and tote bags. The name refers to the temperature at which the coffee is maintained, according to the company Facebook page.

A new craft beer eatery recently opened in Pleasanton. Bottle Taps serves beer, wine and small bites. The menu features tapas, appetizers, salads, and more substantial fare for those with bigger appetites. They offer cider tasting for the kids and celebrated their grand opening on Feb. 23rd.
