Brewery news

British Columbia’s newest “field-to-glass” brewery is now open to the public in Langley, the Canadian Beer News reported on August 6.

Locality Brewing has been founded by Andrew Hamer and Melanie MacInnes, and is located on MacInnes’ 96 acre family farm, where all ingredients for the beers including hops, barley, wheat, rye, berries, and honey are grown and produced.

Head brewer Karen Cheshire – previously at Central City and Steamworks – has crafted an initial beer line-up that includes Wild Side of 248th IPA (6.5% abv), Thank You Lager (5.6% abv), English Pale Ale (4.5% abv), and Blackberry Sour Slush (5% abv).

While the brewery doesn’t currently feature indoor seating, patrons are welcome to get beer and snacks from the barn shop and take them outside to enjoy in a picnic area. Tours of the brewery, malt house, and farm property are also offered.

Locality Brewing is located at 7111 252 St. in Langley, and is currently open to visitors from 3:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, and 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday, closing at sunset each day.
