Japan: Kirin Brewery Co. announced on March 28 it has selected Hanshin Department Store Ltd. and other companies as store tenants for its large-scale commercial complex near Osaka, according to Dow Jones. Kirin has entered contracts with Hanshin, supermarket store operator Heiwado Co. and Shochiku Multiplex Theatres Ltd., allowing them to open tenant stores in its eight-story Kirin Garden City in Amagasaki, western Japan, as early as autumn 2007.

The commercial complex, to be located at a former Kirin plant site, will have gross floor space of 162,000 square meters, including shopping floor space of 60,000 square meters. Details such as total investment and its selection of real estate developers haven't been decided yet, Kirin said.
