E-Malt.com News article: Turkey: Anadolu Efes announced the extended guarantee for the bridge facility agreement sourced by EBI

Efes Beverage Group announced on February 17: “In their meeting on 16 February 2006, it was unanimously decided by the members present of the Board of Directors of our Company that; a guarantee to be extended for the bridge credit facility amounting to USD 500 million which our Netherlands based subsidiary Efes Breweries International N.V. (“EBI”) will source from Citibank N.A. (“Citibank”) and HSBC Bank plc (“HSBC”) collectively, and to authorize the Company management to conduct the related work with respect to the above mentioned actions.”

“With this respect on 16.02.2006 our Company has signed, as guarantor, the Bridge Facility Agreement (“Bridge Facility”) executed among EBI, Citibank and HSBC. The Bridge Facility provides a utilization amount up to USD 500 million.”

“The Bridge Facility was sourced within the framework of the debt finance package, announced earlier on 14.02.2006, for which Citibank and HSBC were collectively mandated. The Bridge Facility sourced by EBI, is planned to be repaid within 2006 by means of various alternative financial instruments.”
