Brewery news

Asia Pacific Breweries was a top gainer on SGX, jumping 1.8 percent to S$11.10 after confirming a S$24 million joint venture with Indian brewery company Jaipuria to build APB's second brewery in India. APB holds a 67 percent stake in the deal, Houston Chronicle posted July 04.

Singapore shares ended flat July 03 as investors retreated to the sidelines to await mid-year results by local companies due in coming weeks.

The benchmark Straits Times Index rose 2.9 points, or 0.1 percent, at 2438.26 points.

Gainers and losers ended evenly at 260 each, while volume fell to 769.8 million shares from 1.2 billion shares on Friday.
