E-Malt.com News article: Denmark & UK: Carlsberg is promising another year of new launches and innovations in 2007

The brewer, well-known for its infamous advertising slogan "Probably the best lager in the world," amongst other credits, is in the process of signing off its plans for next year and says that swelling its portfolio is top of the agenda, the Morning Advertiser released September 15.

The key area Carling wants to exploit is premium lagers. It has not ruled out launching some of the beers made by the brewer in its native country of Denmark in the United Kingdom.

Carlsberg UK customer marketing controller for the on-trade Graeme Mitchell said: "Carlsberg has access to a diverse portfolio of drinks, some of which may be appropriate for the UK market. Our commitment and focus on innovation has already led to the company's launch of Holsten Draught, Poretti, Carlsberg Edge and Carlsberg Elephant. This means that the Carlsberg plan for 2007 is even bigger."
