| E-Malt.com News article: USA: Anheuser-Busch brewing drinking water
It's still in a beer can, but Anheuser-Busch is stocking up on high quality drinking water to get ready for the hurricane season, First Coast News reported May 30.
"The strategy is to have that water in locations prior to hurricanes so if needed people can get it right away," says Jacksonville Senior Plant Manager Syl Robinson.
Robinson says since Anheuser-Busch has the infrastructure to quickly produce, can and deliver water, they will be ready to help after a hurricane.
The Jacksonville brewery is stocked with 4,300 cases, 2,100 are staged at the Houston, Texas brewery and there is a shipment in place in Daytona Beach.
"As we've been through this several years, we found it's an advantage to have it placed in prior to a hurricane so it will be available quickly for people in need," says Robinson.
And if there's a need of even more water after a storm - it's a quick switch to turn this line from filling Bud Light to water.
"We have capability of converting to water and running a line in eight hours if need be," says Robinson.
