Norfolk brewer Woodforde’s has unveiled a 34% increase in sales volumes and a 33% rise in turnover to £3.6m, according to The Morning Advertiser, March 26.
Commercial director Mike Betts said: “We are one of the new generations of breweries that are leading real ale into the 21st Century and we are producing a range of cask beers with flavours that appeal to the modern drinker.”
Director Dennis Nudd added: “It’s been a great year for us as more and more people in East Anglia and throughout the UK have been finding out how much they enjoy our beers.
"We’re totally committed to quality and flavour.
“We care about what goes into our beers and we don’t skimp on any part of the process – barley grown and malted in Norfolk, our own clear, clean spring water for the mash, whole hops full of flavour and aroma - it all goes to make for the distinctive character-filled brews we’re so proud of.”
Woodforde’s has invested around £1.5m in new brewery plant over the past four years to increase brewing capacity to meet sales growth.
Betts added: “I think that much of the secret of our success is down to our fantastic team of 30 staff who are enthusiastic and totally committed to Woodforde’s quality and taste.
"We’re also really in touch with our customers.
"There are more than 11,000 members of the ‘Woodforde’s Club’ – drinkers with a serious passion for Woodforde’s ales who aren’t afraid to tell us what they like.”
