The German brewing group, Brau und Brunnen, announced on July 8 that it has acquired the southern German brewer, Tucher Brau GmbH, according to a report from Dow Jones International. The deal value was not revealed. The acquisition will be retroactive from January 1 and remains subject to approval from antitrust authorities.
Brau und Brunnen itself is thought to be up for sale given that the banking group, HVB, is known to be seeking a buyer for its 56% stake in the brewer.
