| E-Malt.com News article: Belgium & United Kingdom: Belgian microbrewer introduces a premium wheat beer targeting British women
The Belgian micro-brewery Daas Organic Beer is targeting the UK market with the introduction of a new premium wheat beer, The Canadean reported on April, 1.
Daas Organic Witte is said to be a "fruity blend of subtle citrus and coriander spice" that is "well received" by female drinkers.
The premium beer, which is brewed using methods similar to champagne production, will be sold to specialist and organic retailers, as well as restaurants and bars.
Originating in 2001, Daas Organic Beer upholds Belgian brewing traditions dating back 900 years.
Daas originally introduced itself to the UK market with the late-2008 launch of an organic blond beer and it now aims to capitalise upon its initial success.
The company claims to only produce restricted volumes of beer each year due to the limited resources of its organic ingredients.
Belgium plays host to more than 100 breweries which between them produce about 620 different beers.
