South African Breweries has bought 83.7% stake in the Romanian brewery Bere Timisoreana S.A for $6.9 million. The official announcement was made on August 7 2001. The acquisition was made via the subsidiary company South African Breweries International (Europe) B.V. This acquisition is a part of the company’s expansion in Easter Europe.
