The Lithuanian brewer Svyturys is going to merge with Utenos Alus. Svyturys is majority owned by Carlsberg. The shareholders meeting on September 14, 2001 should approve the merger. According to the company’s officials the goal of this merger is to increase the companies’ administrative efficiency.
