Russia’s largest brewer Baltika Breweries began production of Baltika Cooler Lime — a new beer variety in the line-up of the popular brand for young adults Baltika Cooler, the company announced on May, 21.
Vsevolod Nikolaev, Director of the Baltika brand development group: “The growth in popularity of beer varieties with flavour additives is one of the current tendencies of the worldwide beer market, and the Baltika brand, as the leader on the Russian market, could not remain on the sidelines of this trend. The launch of Cooler Lime enables us to raise sales and market share of the Baltika brand by attracting new adult consumers, including young women.”
Baltika Cooler Lime is brought to market in a transparent 0.5-litre bottle with a convenient ring cap. The recommended retail price is 28 roubles. Already in May, the new variety will be available across all of Russia. Production has been arranged at the company’s facilities in St. Petersburg, Tula and Krasnoyarsk. A national advertising campaign is planned in support of the launch.
During Q1 2009, Baltika brand’s market share rose, reaching 15.7% (source — Business Analytica). According to the rating of world brands published by the international company Millward Brown Optimor (MBO), in 2008 Baltika brand was among the top 20 leading beer brands and has the highest indicator of potential for further growth.
