This month Baltika Breweries has shipped the first batch of its production to Panama, Russia’s largest brewer announced on December, 16.
The volume of the shipment amounted to 10 thousand litres, comprising such beers as Baltika No. 3 Classic, Baltika No. 6 Porter, Baltika No. 7 Export, Baltika No. 8 Wheat, and Baltika No. 9 Strong.
The brews will be available in Panama’s restaurants and specialized supermarkets, the company said.
“This has been a strategic move in the development of our business,” Elena Volgusheva, Sales Manager for the countries of North and South America at Baltika Breweries, said. “Due to its geographical location, Panama is an international trade centre and has strong economic ties to the other states in the region. Besides, the nation has a high beer consumption rate – 65 litres per capita annually, whereas the average rate of the region does not exceed 30 litres.”
Besides Panama, Baltika Breweries started to export beer to Norway, Lebanon, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Chile, Vietnam, and Malaysia in 2009.
