Delta Corp., Zimbabwe’s biggest brewer, said profit for the year through March surged more than six fold to $33.5 million, Bloomberg communicated on May, 13.

The company, which is part-owned by SABMiller Plc, said revenue more than tripled to $330.8 million.

Delta, which is based in the capital, Harare, plans capital expenditure of $56.4 million this financial year and $56.4 million in fiscal 2012.

Sales of lager beer rose 78 percent in April compared with the same month last year, Delta said.

“The health of the entire business is better than ever before,” company’s statement claims.
