E-Malt.com News article: World: GrainCorp announces new head of malting operations

GrainCorp’s head of its UK malting operations will replace Ian Wilton, who resigned from his posts as malt division chief and president, Weekly Times Now reported on March, 16.

Managing director Alison Watkins announced earlier this week Steve Haydon as new head of GrainCorp Malt and a member of the company's executive team.

Mr Haydon was president of Bairds Malt, GrainCorp's UK malting arm, up until his new appointment.

Prior to that, he held senior management roles in GrainCorp's US subsidiary – Great Western Malting – and its Canadian operation, Canada Malting Company.

Mr Wilton took up a position as GrainCorp Malt president and CEO last July, when Ms Watkins took up her role as GrainCorp head.

He was believed to have applied for the GrainCorp top job after acting in the position following the sudden departure of former managing director Mark Irwin in January last year.
