| E-Malt.com News article: US, CO: Left Hand Brewing in the midst of a $2.1 million expansion to ‘greatly increase brewing capacity’
Left Hand Brewing Company Inc. has purchased 3.4 acres and an 11,000-square foot warehouse as it continues its dramatic expansion, Boulder County Business Report communicated on March, 31.
The Longmont-based brewery purchased the land at 1280 Boston Ave., which is across the street from Left Hand's brewery and tasting room at 1265 Boston Ave.
The price was $1.1 million. The warehouse will provide storage space, some office space and the land will be used to expand the parking lot, Left Hand Brewing president and cofounder Eric Wallace said.
"If things continue, this will be by far our largest growth year," Wallace said.
With the new property, Left Hand won't have to leave its home.
"We're here for the long haul," Wallace said.
The company has needed space for a long time, and began talks about purchasing the property from its prior owners in 2008. It has been the home of Pacific Auction Cos., which is relocating to 1830 Boston Ave.
"Finally we were able to get a deal done," Wallace said.
Left Hand Brewing is in the midst of a $2.1 million expansion that will greatly increase its brewing capacity, Wallace said. The company is about three-quarters of the way through, he estimated.
The new capacity will help the microbrewery expand once it catches up with current demand.
"We can't keep up right now. We've been trying to catch up since last spring," Wallace said. "It's great, but it also creates stress."
