Japanese beer maker, Kirin Brewery Co., intends to launch a new happoshu brand, Japanese News Digest has recently posted. According to the reports the company announced that it will introduce Honey Brown, a version of the Japanese low-malt beer containing honey, in February 2004. The new beverage will be packaged in a honey-coloured can and will retail at 145 yen (US$1.30). Kirin already owns Japan’s leading happoshu beer, Tanrei.
