On November, 7 a silo was charred by a fire at New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins, The Denver Post reported on November, 7.

The silo was not in use and was in the process of being decommissioned.

Firefighters have contained a blaze that started around noon in a decommissioned grain silo at the New Belgium Brewing Company in Fort Collins, the company said.

The two-alarm fire began in an empty "spent grain silo" that was being turned into scrap, said New Belgium spokesman Bryan Simpson. No one was injured.

"The assumption is that either a saw or a grinder generated enough heat to set off a spark" that set insulation on fire, Simpson said.

The Poudre Fire Authority had the blaze contained within 30 minutes, said Poudre Fire spokesman Capt. Patrick Love.

"Construction crews were actively working on that silo," Love said. The crews were evacuated.

The fire didn't spread to a nearby malt storage facility or another silo.

The fire is still under investigation, Love said.
