| E-Malt.com News article: Denmark: Carlsberg to lay off up to 150 employees across Europe
Danish brewer Carlsberg says it will lay off between 130 and 150 people across Europe in the face of "difficult and uncertain market conditions", The Republic reported on November, 30.
CEO Joergen Buhl Rasmussen said the world's fourth largest brewery group would now "focus on fewer, but more important activities and execute them with greater impact."
The move comes after Carlsberg reported a worse-than-expected third-quarter with a decline in its important Russian market and lower sales because of bad summer weather in northern and Western Europe.
The Copenhagen-based group employs some 41,000 people worldwide.
