| E-Malt.com News article: USA, NY: Olde Saratoga Brewing to double its production
Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. will spend $350,000 to double its keg production to meet an anticipated 20 percent increase in sales in 2012, The Business Review reported on March, 9.
That’s on top of a 22 percent increase in sales in 2011.
It’s the second such expansion in less than a year for the Saratoga Springs, New York, craft brewery, as the company increases production to meet a growing demand for craft beers. In November, Olde Saratoga invested $190,000 to install two new 250-barrel fermentation tanks. The additional tanks allow the company to produce 7,750 more gallons of beer a year.
Olde Saratoga produced 45,000 barrels of beer in 2011 and expects to produce 55,000 barrels this year.
“We’re straight out, and it looks like it’s going to continue. Our own brand is growing, and the people we brew for are growing,” said Max Oswald, regional sales manager.
The craft brewery, which produces about 40 labels, describes itself as the fourth largest craft brewery out of 50 in New York state.
The operation, which employs 30, invested $800,000 in 2008 to enlarge its 35,000-square-foot plant by 5,000 square feet.
