East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has announced that it has appointed a new Managing Director. In a press statement dated 28th June, EABL Group Director and CEO Seni Adetu announced the appointment of Mr. Joe Muganda as the MD for Kenya Breweries Limited.
Mr. Muganda, who will be assuming office beginning September 1st will replace Mr. Baker Magunda who has moved to West Africa as the Managing director of Guinness Cameroon.
Mr. Muganda joins EABL from British America Tobacco (BAT) where he was Area Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs and “brings on board extensive business experience gained in Kenya, UK and various African countries,” the statement says.
Mr. Muganda has vast experience having worked at Unilever and later joining BAT as a brand manager where he rose to become the Head of Marketing. He later moved to BAT Zimbabwe in 2001 as Marketing Director from where he was promoted as the General Manager for Horn of Africa. He then moved to Europe to work in the BAT Africa and Middle East Regional team.
EABL unveiled a new corporate identity in June. “The rebirth of our corporate identity in the new logo, symbolizing our people, our heritage and the spirit of professionalism is a strong symbolic step in our committed journey to the future,” said the group CEO Seni Adetu during the unveiling.
