| E-Malt.com News article: Ukraine: Barley output forecast revised down to 6.5 mln tonnes
UkrAgroConsult on July, 9 revised down its estimate for barley output in Ukraine in 2012 to 6.5 (previous forecast 7.0; previous year 8.3) mln tonnes due to a lower harvested area of 3.45 (3.50; 3.72) mln ha and lower yields of 1.89 (2.00; 2.23) t/ha.
Out of the total, spring barley production is estimated at 5.1 (5.6; 5.2) mln tonnes on a harvested area of 2.82 (2.82; 2.60) mln ha and expected yields of 1.88 (2.00; 2.05) t/ha.
Total domestic use now is seen at 5.2 (5.3; 5.7) mln tonnes, exports at 2.0 (2.5; 2.5) mln tonnes, and ending stocks at 181,000 (61,000; 856,000) tonnes.
