Sierra Nevada Brewery is to set up a new sister facility at Mills River in North Carolina, Drinks Business Review reported on July, 10.
The brewery will work with brewing equipment manufacturer Huppmann to dismantle the used brew houses and refit the copper domes on the newly purchased four stainless steel kettles, reported BlueRidgeNow.com.
Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman said in an interview copper is very traditional in the brewing industry and it is a beautiful material to work with.
"Today, most of what we have is stainless steel, but we still like the traditional look of copper kettles, so we're going to introduce those back to the brewery in North Carolina," Grossman added.
The brewery has selected Asheville-based Design Workshop landscape architect Glenn Walters to design the site at Ferncliff.
Sierra Nevada will use 184 acres of the 262 acres of Ferncliff Industrial Park, which includes 100 acres of brewery and 80 acres of additional space. It also plans to use all the trees removed from the Mills River property to construct the bar and the brewery.
