| E-Malt.com News article: Mozambique: Cervejas de Mozambique reports 10.2% sales increase for FY ended March, 31
Mozambique’s sole brewing company, Cervejas de Mozambique (CDM), recorded a sales increase of 10.2% and 20.8% profit increase in the financial year ended March, 31, Bernama reported on July, 31.
CDM – the local subsidiary of the world’s second-largest beer maker SABMiller plc – reported revenue at 7.8 bln meicais (US$277 mln) compared to 6.75 bln meticais in the previous financial year.
Profits rose from 854 mln to 1.08 bln meticais.
The growth is attributed to a strong performance in the first quarter of 2012 after a sales decline in the third quarter of 2011 and the production of the Impala beer brand, brewed at CDM’s brewery in northern Nampula province.
