Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery is set to begin production at its Brevard, North Carolina-based site this December, Shanken News Daily reported on August, 6.
The craft brewer - which first announced plans for an East Coast expansion in May - has reportedly signed a lease for a 30,000-square-foot space in Brevard, which will produce labels such as Dale’s Pale Ale, Old Chub and Mama’s Little Yella Pils, among others.
For 2013, Oskar Blues is expected to produce around 40,000 barrels at the new facility, with future capacity predicted to reach as high as 85,000 barrels. The brewer’s original Longmont, Colorado brewery, meanwhile, is projected to produce 100,000 barrels next year.
Like Oskar Blues, California’s Sierra Nevada and Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing have also unveiled plans to expand their East Coast reach with new production facilities in western North Carolina.
