| E-Malt.com News article: USA, NV: Great Basin Brewing acquires Buckbean Brewing plant
Great Basin Brewing Company has acquired the old Buckbean Brewing Company facility in Reno, The Drinks Business Review reported on November, 28.
Great Basin Brewing has secured both the space and the brewing equipment to brew signature brews, increase production and develop new brews after modifying the current capacity.
The acquisition has been made to meet the bottling and distribution demand, which the brewery at present doesn't possess, according to Great Basin Brewing.
Great Basin Brewing owner Tom Young said acquiring the new space is a good opportunity at the right time.
''It will allow us to do what we do best: brew great, local, and exciting craft beer to satisfy the discerning palates of fine folks of northern Nevada and the surrounding areas,'' Young added.
The new brewery is expected to add 4-10 people and begin production by the late summer or early fall.
Great Basin Brewing Company is also planning to upgrade the facility's present 30-barrel system to a 60-barrel system.
