Brothers Rick and John Davidson, who founded and own Glens Falls-based Davidson Brothers Brewing Co., said on March, 14 they plan to build a $3.5 mln, 20,000-square-foot craft brewery in Queensbury.

Demand has grown each year since the brewery opened in 1996, and in 2001 Davidson Brothers began brewing some of its beer at Shipyard Brewery in Portland, Maine, after it ran out of capacity in Glens Falls. The new brewery, with a capacity of 10,000 barrels, or 138,000 cases, per year will enable them to brew all their beer in Warren County, the brothers said.

The Davidson brothers will also continue to operate their restaurant and brewery in Glens Falls.
