Northwinds Brewery, a new venture headed by avid award-winning homebrewer Geoff Conway, has announced plans to release its first beer to the public next month, Canadian Beer News reported on August, 16.

With production being led by Andrew Bartle, Northwinds will initially be contract brewing at an existing facility, and will be launching with Corduroy Rye IPA, a 6.1% abv and 45 IBU ale.

Future brands will include Three Stage XPA, Milk Run Stout, Northwinds Common, and the Bighead SMaSH series of single malt & single hop beers.

In 2014, Northwinds will be opening its own brewhouse in Collingwood, along with a tied house bar and restaurant that will feature seasonal food menus focussed on ingredients sourced from local suppliers whenever possible.
