USA, Washington: US beer interests are lobbying for a rollback of the federal excise tax imposed on their products. Congress Daily reported on April 8 that beer wholesalers are preparing for a massive lobbying push later this month on Capitol Hill for their policy agenda, according to United Press International.

Beyond asking for a repeal of the federal excise tax on beer, the National Beer Wholesalers Association will also blanket Congress with 1,000 industry representative who will reportedly push lawmakers for a repeal of the estate tax, a favorite issue amongst conservative Republicans.

The group is also said to be joining the Beer Institute, which represents brewing interests, in funding up to $30,000 in radio and print advertising to promote the industry's agenda.
