Spain: The Dutch brewer Heineken announced on April 14 that it will invest EUR 320 million in a new factory in Seville, to replace its brewery in the centre of southern Spanish city. The new brewery will increase Heineken’s production in Seville from 3.5 million hectolitres to 4 million hectolitres. It will begin production in 2006, and will become fully operational in 2008. The move to the suburbs will not lead to any redundancies, the company said.
