Just over a year after it opened as a small brewery in East Vancouver – aka “Yeast Van” – Powell Street Craft Brewery has announced plans for a move and expansion that will see them progress from nanobrewery to microbrewery status, Canadian Beer News reported on May 22.

As announced in the brewery’s weekly newsletter, the new location for the brewery is several blocks away but still on Powell Street. Construction is underway now, with the move expected in late summer, and capacity to increase to microbrewery levels throughout the fall.
