British Columbia’s ever-expanding collection of craft breweries has increased by one more, with the quiet opening of new nanobrewery Beacon Brewing in Nelson earlier this week, Canadian Beer News reported on June 26.

Following a low-key launch party at Finley’s Irish Bar and Grill on Saturday, June 21, Beacon opened its doors of its brewery and retail store at 511 Front St. in Nelson to the public on Tuesday June 24th.

Sales are initially limited to a single beer - Beacon Porter – in 1 litre and 2 litre growlers, with a Blonde Ale set to join the Porter on tap soon.
