Brewery news

Track 7 Brewing Co. started construction on its brewery expansion in Sacramento, California, areadevelopment.com reported on November, 7.

The company intends for this new 35,000 square foot facility to serve as its core manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility, as well as house a second tasting room and office space to accommodate the explosion of product demand.

The new brewery will feature an additional 4,000 square foot tasting room with a 1,500 square foot outdoor landscaped patio area. The five-vessel 30-barrel brewhouse comprising the heart of the manufacturing plant will include twin 30-barrel kettles and mash-lauter tuns. When fully operational, the brewhouse is capable of producing 480 barrels of beer per day.

"While we broke ground at our Natomas facility yesterday, construction activities have been underway for the past eight weeks. We are 100 percent complete on our cellar tanks and about 85 percent complete on the brewhouse fabrication. The equipment, fabricated by Marks Design and Fabrication in Vancouver, Washington, will be on-site by early December," stated Co-owner Ryan Graham.

Track 7 Brewing Co. was established in 2011 and has grown from 340 barrels of beer in its opening year to just under 1,200 barrels of beer in 2013. This year Track 7 Brewing Co. projects to produce about 2,800 barrels of beer all within a fairly narrow distribution footprint.

"Our Natomas facility is designed and will be constructed with the future in mind," noted Graham. "We are already talking about Phase 2, which would include a bulk grain storage bin, 120-barrel fermenters and brite beer tanks, as well as upgraded bottling, canning and kegging lines."

"Right now, draft product is pretty limited to about a 30-mile radius and packaged product to about a 70-mile radius," stated Co-owner Geoff Scott. "The Natomas facility will give us an opening capacity of about 8,000 barrels of beer. Our goal has always been to satisfy the Sacramento demand prior to taking on new territory. With Natomas, we can meet existing demand in Sacramento and still have product remaining to continue development of the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley and other adjacent markets."
