Freetail Brewing Co. announced plans to expand its beer distribution to San Antonio's surrounding counties and the Houston area later this year, My San Antonio reported on February 4.

The San Antonio-based brewery teamed with Tri-City Distributors to expand its beer sales to Comal, Guadalupe and Gonzales counties, according to a news release. Additionally, Freetail is working with Silver Eagle Distributors, the brewery's distributor for the San Antonio area, to increase its reach into the Houston market.

Beer in bottles, cans and draft is expected to hit San Antonio's surrounding counties in the spring. The Houston area will get Freetail in draft by the spring with the full assortment in the fall.

Freetail opened a second brewing facility late last year near downtown San Antonio. Since it started brewing there in October, Freetail was able to post a 100 percent increase in beer production compared to all of 2013, the news release states.
