| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MI: New microbrewery construction in Cedar Springs delayed till April
The construction of a new microbrewery in Cedar Springs has been delayed due to environmental testing, WOODTV.com reported on February 19.
Owners were waiting on testing and approvals from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality after the demolition of the building that stood on the site where the new Cedar Springs Brewing Company will go up, according to the brewery’s blog.
That approval process is now over, and brownfield credits aimed at decreasing blight have been finalized, owner David Ringler told 24 Hour News 8.
Still, the business is waiting on construction steel to be delivered. Cedar Springs hopes to begin construction by April, saying it will be more cost effective to “do everything at once.”
The 5,700-square-foot brewery and restaurant, which will be located on North Main Street, plans to open its doors to the public in late summer.
