| E-Malt.com News article: USA, TN: Yee-Haw Brewing Company plans to open in Johnson City this summer
A brewing company announced plans on March 13 to open a new brewery in the Tweetsie Depot in downtown Johnson City, WJHL reports.
The Buffalo Street location will serve as the Yee-Haw Brewing Company's flagship location.
Founding partner Joe Baker, who also co-founded Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, originally planned to turn the old Clinchfield train depot across the street into a brewery.
This new brewery will have a tap room, a place the company describes as somewhere the community can hang out and have a good time.
Baker hopes the depot's revitalization will significantly impact the downtown area.
"There's a lot of good things happening in downtown Johnson City,” Baker said. “This is just a piece of that. We certainly hope that this is a catalyst for more and more things to happen down here."
Yee-Haw Brewing Company plans to open for business early summer of this year.
