| E-Malt.com News article: USA, FL: Ancient City Brewing to open in St. Augustine
The preparations are underway for a new small business to open in St. Johns County, St. Augustine, ActionNewsJax.com reported on May 8.
Ancient City Brewing is a week away from serving customers.
Co-owner Greg Tuttle said right now the brewery has only a handful of people on staff, but he expects that to change.
“At full capacity, I think we'll probably be in the 20 to 25 employee range ... and hopefully we can bust the wall next door and keep expanding and hire more,” Tuttle said.
Along with the business happening inside the brewery, St. Johns County spokesperson Michael Ryan said more money will be pouring into the county from sales and other taxes.
“So all of that comes back to us and goes into the general fund, and we turn that around and make parks and fund fire stations and stuff,” Ryan said.
Ryan also said the brewery will give people another reason to visit the county and city of St. Augustine.
“This is just one other tool in our toolbox to promote economic development and tourism,” Ryan said.
“My dream is to bring quality craft beer to the community of St. Augustine and beyond,” Tuttle said.
