| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MI: Petoskey Brewing to upgrade by the end of June
One of the oldest breweries in Emmet County, Michigan is getting a face lift just in time for the summer season, UpNorthLive.com reported on June 2.
Since March, the owners of Petoskey Brewing have invested about $1 million into renovations and new equipment.
"We’ve had a lot of support from the local community first and foremost," said Petoskey Brewing co-owner Patrick Dowd. "We have them to thank for being able to go through expansion. Our plan was to expand by year 5; here we are in year 3 doing that expansion and it’s entirely the result of our customer support."
The brewery was first built in 1898.
Dowd and his partners took ownership of the brewery in 2012.
The new beer processing tanks will allow the brewery to increase their output from 3,600 barrels a year to 5,500.
Dowd said that the renovations and new equipment will be fully installed by the end of June.
