Their proposal envisions a brewery at 5220 S. Washington Ave. They are seeking property tax breaks from Brevard County for their project.
The operators of the Playalinda Brewing Co. craft brewery and tasting room in downtown Titusville say business has been so good since they opened in November 2014 that they want to expand their operations by opening a larger brewery in south Titusville.
The partners in the venture — Bryan and Donna Scott and Ron and Katie Raike — detailed their plans in documents filed with the Brevard County Commission, as they are seeking property tax breaks for the expansion, which they are calling the Brix Project Brewery. “Demand for the product continues to substantially outpace supply, sparking serious discussion, research and movement to start a new venture,” they said in their application.
Their proposal envisions a brewery at 5220 S. Washington Ave. in Titusville. The partners will make a $3.65 million capital investment, including $2.25 million on building refurbishment construction costs and $1.4 million on machinery, equipment and furniture.
The Brix Project Brewery could qualify for up to $18,115 a year in property tax breaks for 10 years, while paying $25,130 a year in new property taxes during that period, according to an analysis prepared by the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast.
