More than 2 years after its planned opening was first announced, Rurban Brewing has released its first batch of beers in Cornwall, Ontario, Canadian Beer News reported on November 11.
Founded by the husband and wife team of A.J. and Karen Rorabeck, Rurban – a name that combines “rural” and “urban” – launched in late October with four brands: Stop and Goes (4.9% abv gose), Palatine Pale (4.1% abv pale ale), New Johnstown’s Best Bitter (4.3% abv bitter), and Alestake & Evergreen (5.9% abv IPA).
Distribution of Rurban brands is currently limited to draught sales at select bars and restaurants in the area. On-site samples/glasses and retail sales of cans are expected to start at the brewery (414-416 Cumberland St., Cornwall) in December.
