Influenced by country's third place position in the soccer World Cup, Turkish beer production increased by 9.06% up to 292.6 million liters in the first five month of 2002, if compared with the same period of 2001, a report from Hurriyet and State Statistics Institute said. Only in May 2002 Turkish brewers produced 80.2 million liters of beer, in comparison with 69.2 million liters produced in May 2001.
