The Property Ministry of Bashkortostan, Russia, declared that it is planning to sell a major stake in Shikhan brewery in the first half of August 2002. The government owns 71% of Company and it is to sell a 46% stake. The starting price for the bidding will be around RUB 350 million, analysts are expecting. The remaining 29% of the company is controlled by Shikhan management and employees.
Shikhan constitutes around 1% of total Russian beer output. The company production plans for the future are: to produce 13 million deciliters this year and 20 million deciliters next year.
