The city of Brewer has a new brewery. Mason's Brewing Company is the third brewery to open in the city in the last two years, WCSH6.com reported on May 20.

Owner Chris Morley said the Brewery means 30 new jobs.

United States Senator Susan Collins was on hand to help cut the ribbon.

Collins' Bangor office helped secure a federal license quickly enough to open in time for summer.

The Senator even poured some beer.

"To convert this old building which hadn't been used for a couple of years, it used to be a public works garage, into a place where people can come and have great beer and a nice meal and gaze out at the river is really terrific."

The owner said he started this project five years ago.
