| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MO: Schlafly Bottleworks undergoing major expansion
Schlafly Bottleworks is undergoing a major expansion in Maplewood and that means the beer brewer will stay at its location there for years to come, fox2now.com reported on June 1.
Schlafly has already spent more than a million dollars in the first of two expansion phases. The first phase which started in January and is already done included changes to the bottling line, updating how the beer is packaged and putting in new labeling equipment.
The second phase which is still to come will focus on adding more beer fermenting tanks to the Maplewood site. Schlafly’s CEO, James Pendegraft, says he basically wants to nearly double the company’s beer production. And he wants to do it in Maplewood.
'Our beers are popular all across the United States in the markets that we’re in. But we really are committed and focused on growing right here in St. Louis and so it was just a natural part of it. We’re all St. Louisans, we’re from the Show Me State and we want to be right here,' said Pendegraft.
The multi-million dollar expansion is slated to be done by early next year.
